Color Events

April - October
Different perennials will be blooming in the display garden throughout the season, both shade and sun-tolerant plants. Many potted perennials will be available for sale throughout the season.
-
Late April - May
The greenhouses are colorful with annuals, herbs, succulents, and hanging baskets. This is a good time to see woodland wildflowers and other early spring perennials.
-
Late May - Early June
Peonies in bloom- these old-fashioned perennials come in an incredible palette of colors. Over 70 cultivars (see Peony List). Many varieties will be available potted.
-
June - July
Although there is always something vibrant in the perennial garden, this is the period when colors are at their absolute peak in the garden.
-
August - October
This is the time to see the fall blooms of perennials such as hardy hibiscus, aster, chrysanthemum, Japanese anemone, turtle head, Japanese toad lily, sedum and others; the fall color of many grasses provides interesting texture to a perennial garden. If you are interested in autumn bare root plants, this is the time to place a peony order.
